KIMCIPEDES.COM, NTT | Minister of National Development Planning conducted a working visit to Kambaniru Dam, at East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, Friday, 04/06/2021.
The Minister and his entourage arrived at Umbu Mehang Kunda Waingapu Airport at 09.00 WITA. The Minister was accompanied by the Deputy for Infrastructure and the Minister's Special Staff.
The flood disaster resulted in damage to the kambaniru weir which resulted in the breaking of the right side of the 80 meter long weir and caused some damage to the downstream area of the kambaniru river both for residential areas and public facilities, and resulted in irrigation canals unable to drain water to the irrigation area of 1400 ha.
The management plan will be carried out in two ways. The first is an emergency treatment by planning an embankment upstream of the river as far as 300 meters from the axis of the river using ronjong, with the aim of flowing water into the existing intake with a diversion channel, so that water can flow back into the irrigation canal.
Second, permanent handling which is still in the design preparation stage. Meanwhile, the need for rehabilitation of the Kambaniru Dam is 90 billion through the 2021 State Budget of 67.5 billion and in 2022 of 22.5 billion.
